  • In My Early Life, Churchill wrote,
"Twenty to twenty-five! These are the years! Don't be content with things as they are. 'The earth is yours and the fullness thereof.' Enter upon your inheritance, accept your responsibilities. Raise the glorious flags again, advance them upon the new enemies, who constantly gather upon the front of the human army, and have only to be assaulted to be overthrown. Don't take No for an answer. Never submit to failure. Do not be fobbed off with mere personal success or acceptance. You will make all kinds of mistakes; but as long as you are generous and true, and also fierce, you cannot hurt the world or even seriously distress her. She was made to be wooed and won by youth."

  • The Youth and Education Committee, like Churchill, knows that the young people of today are the leaders of tomorrow and has the joyful responsibility of encouraging and supporting youth education and youth membership in the Society through educational materials, a $500 high school award, and a university scholarship endowment.

  • The Committee also offers the services of our Speakers Bureau, a fascinating group of men, women, and youth whose lives have been and are touched by Churchill in incredible ways. Our speakers are multi-generational and speak on a variety of topics. The Speakers Bureau is available for local talks and presentations to high schools, university classes, and other organizations for no charge.

Members of any age are most welcome in the Sir Winston Churchill Society of Vancouver Island. Our youngest member joined at the age of eleven, so it is never too early, nor too late, to heed the words of Churchill.
